Klewin Construction Successfully Completes Horace Bushnell Apartments
Stonington, CT based Klewin Construction successfully completes construction of Horace Bushnell Apartments. The $18 million dollar project located on Vine Street in Hartford, Connecticut’s Upper Albany Avenue neighborhood is complete and already fully occupied by tenants. 4-40 Vine Street consists of 74 apartments, throughout 90,000 square feet covering nine three-story buildings. The building construction was gut rehab historic renovation. The buildings were originally built in the 1920s and are listed on the National Register of Historic Places. Klewin worked meticulously to preserve the historic structures while upgrading the units with first class amenities including energy efficient heating and cooling systems, new kitchens, bathrooms, and living spaces.
Throughout the construction process, Klewin Construction is proud to have exceeded the thirty percent minority and local business participation goals set by the City of Hartford. Klewin not only surpassed the thirty percent goal but exceeded eighty percent minority and local business participation on the project. The project was dedicated May 27th by the Mayor of Hartford, State and Federal Dignitaries.
Klewin Construction Selected as Construction Manager for Garvey Square Mixed Use Development
El Monte, CA
Klewin Construction has been selected to build the Garvey Square Mixed use development in El Monte California. The Garvey Square project is being developed by Laterra Development and will consist of 102 townhomes, 12 condominiums, and 5,400 square feet of prime commercial space. The project broke ground February 5th 2015, and the total project is estimated to cost $48 million dollars. “We are extremely pleased to continue to work with Laterra Development. Klewin Selected to provide Construction Management Continuing Services to Broward College
Klewin is pleased to announce to have been selected as one of the primary contractors to provide Construction Management Continuing Services to Broward College on projects under $2 Million. Klewin Construction selected to convert a 626 room hotel next to Los Angeles International Airport (LAX)
El Segundo, CA
Klewin Construction has been selected by Rubicon Companies to act as the construction manager for the renovation of a 626 room hotel next to Los Angeles International Airport. The Hacienda hotel consists of over 300,000 square feet and encompasses over 626 rooms. Klewin Construction will convert the existing property into two different hotels, Aloft by Starwood and Fairfield by Marriott. The renovation will include complete seismic upgrades, all new guestroom and corridor improvements, new nine-story curtain wall replacement, all new MEP systems, new two-story lobby and porta cache for the ALOFT building, new pool, rework of the site: new hardscape, landscape, retaining walls and site utilities. “Klewin Construction is currently building over 1,200 hotel rooms nationally. Klewin Construction selected by AIMCO to act as the Design-Builder for their new parking garage at the Flamingo Residences

Klewin Construction has is pleased to have been selected by AIMCO to act as the design-builder for their new parking structure at the Flamingo Residences in South Beach, Miami. The $6 million dollar project will encompass 42,000 square feet and include 123 parking spaces. The garage will be constructed on an occupied campus and span between the existing apartment tower and the pool. The Lania roof deck will include landscape, hardscapes, and stadium seating stepping up above the pool level to provide views of Biscayne Bay. “We are pleased to have been selected for this project. Klewin handled the demolition of the pre-existing garage for AIMCO and we look forward to rebuilding the garage. Klewin Construction selected as Construction Manager for the Conversion of 205 Church Street
New Haven, CT
Klewin Construction has been selected by Cooper Church LLC to act as the construction manager for the residential conversion of 205 Church Street in New Haven CT. The 160,000 square foot high rise will house 138 residential units. The apartments are predominantly studio and one bedroom residences, but also feature two bedroom and penthouse units all with stunning views of New Haven and Yale University. The building is situated at the corner of Elm and Church streets across from the historic New Haven Green. The Georgian- Colonial Revival skyscraper was constructed in 1928 on the site of the former home of Richard Perry, Secretary to the General Court of the Colony of New Haven. Designed by the architectural firm of Cross & Cross the building was constructed for the Union and New Haven Trust Company and has been a landmark in New Haven for over 85 years. Construction will be completed by the end of 2014.
Klewin Construction Selected to Build Masonicare at Mystic Senior Living Project
Klewin Construction has been selected to act as the construction manager for the Masonicare at Mystic Senior Living Project. Phase I of the project is estimated to cost over $36 million to build and will consist entirely of new construction. The first phase of the project will include 179 units of senior housing including memory care, assisted living, and independent living units. Other amenities will include common areas, dining facilities, and a pool. The project itself will sit on 18 acres of land in Mystic CT. The project is being co-developed by Norwich CT based BROM Builders and Masonicare and will be managed by Masonicare. The project architect is Bessolo Design Group. “We are extremely pleased to have been selected to construct this project. Klewin Construction Selected to Renovate Alexandria Apartments
Klewin Construction has been selected by Vista Investment to act as the construction manager for the renovation of the Alexandria Apartments in Hollywood California. The project will include the renovation of 72 apartment units encompassing over 60,000 square feet. The renovation will include the complete rehab of all living units and common areas including electrical and plumbing upgrades. The units will be outfitted with new bathrooms, kitchens, living areas and interior finishes. Additionally all common areas as well as the building exterior will be renovated. The project is expected to be completed by late summer 2014.

The office space will house the corporate headquarters of AI Engineering. Bob Diamond joins Klewin Construction’s Northeast Division as Senior Estimator
Bob Diamond has joined Klewin Construction’s Northeast division as Senior Estimator. Bob brings over 28 years of construction, estimating, and pre construction experience to Klewin. He has served in the role of Chief Estimator for several Northeast based Construction firms, and brings extensive project experience throughout New England down through the Mid-Atlantic. Some of Bob’s projects include Dormitories, Assisted Living Facilities, Parking Garages, Hotels, Schools, Colleges, and Retail. “We are pleased to have Bob join our growing Northeast team. Klewin Construction Breaks Ground on the Florida International University Ambulatory Care Facility and The Miami Children’s Hospital Ambulatory Care Center
Klewin Construction is pleased to announce the groundbreaking of the Florida International University and Miami Children’s Hospital Ambulatory Care Center on FIU’s main campus. The 36,000 square foot building will be dedicated to outpatient care. The Miami Children Hospital Ambulatory Surgery center will occupy part of the building and will comprise of 19,884 square feet of medical facilities that includes medical offices, 5 surgery rooms, 8 phase 1 recovery rooms and 10 phase 2 recovery rooms. This facility is located on the second floor of the FIU Ambulatory Care. The building, under FIU’s educational and community outreach, will also include family medicine/primary care, sports medicine, imaging center, and administrative/support spaces that will be open to the general community for diagnosis, treatment and care. The building is designed to include offices, examination and treatment rooms, multi-modality imaging center (with CT X-ray, ultrasound and fluoroscopy), and ambulatory surgery and diagnostic center. The building is designed by AECOM Architects and will be a LEED Certified facility and be follow the AHCA standard and BIM implementation LOD 500 as well.
